We will set off from the Vonkale beach and head for Kapeenkoski, where we will go ashore. We can take a walk in the beautiful nature and take a lunch break at a campsite, or you may also try rafting, river floating, a smoke sauna, and other activities available at Kapeenkoski.

Sightseeing tours on a fishing raft (max. 11 people)

A boat trip is an interesting way to explore lake Keitele. On our way we will pass by some large glacial rock formations, natural beaches and a multitude of uninhabited islands. Out on the lake, you may hear the mythical black-throated loon’s cry that is emblematic of the Finnish lake district.

During the trip, our guide will tell you about the town of Äänekoski and lake Keitele. In the summer, we may stop for a swim and snorkeling, or even stop on one of the beautiful islands for a break. The tours begin at the Majoitus & Kalastus Vonkale beach.

The tour begins at the Vonkale beach. We will observe the lake scenery of Korpiselkä on our way along lake Keitele towards the Paatela ship lock. We will pass through the canal to lake Kuhnamo (8 metres below Keitele). Along the way, you will have the chance to see some old log booms and often even an osprey nesting on the island. From lake Kuhnamo, our tour will continue through the Kapeenkoski canal (height difference 3 metres) to lake Vatianjärvi. Alternatively, we can sail upstream to see the Metsä Board bio materials mill from the lake.
